Been a quiet time on the site, but miles have been piling up. The last year was great. Never got that Oramm report posted but had a blast. Spent three days riding in North Carolina. Alex finished the event after a few challenges in the 8 hour range, while I fought through a simple crash that ended up causing a DNF for me mid-way through the event with unfortunately located bruising. We do this for fun and fun we had!

Alex would keep the season rolling with decent success in the Coconut Cup Series, landing on a few podiums throughout the series and battling for Top 5 overall. Meanwhile I carried my fitness into a few events as well with no particular results to mention lol.

| Holeshot for Gravel? |
Come December, we enjoyed the "Spirit of Gravel" at the Florida State Gravel Championship, and decided to go with the half distance "Fun" event that still had plenty of strong legs in the mix. Had a blast on the day and decided to put some MTB into strategy and go for a holeshot into what was the only line available for the first two miles to shell the group a bit. Successfully managed to not blow up and rode in a thinning lead group with Alex for about 26 of the 30 miles when the legs gave way. Alex stayed in the small group and came away with a 10th place and I managed a second win and chased back for 12th.

Entering the new year Alex managed some more Coconut Cup success and I took a break. #Newbikeday for me in February got me back on the road and returned enough fitness
into the Spring to dip my toes into a May Down2Earth home event and bring back some 2nd place hardware for the first time in ages.

That's been about the last of our season so far in 2023. Been spending time adventuring on Camping and Hiking trips to Florida and Georgia which always is a nice change. Even dabbling in...gasp...Running for a bit before the "2023 Heat Dome" hit the US. Temps are coming down so will be dabbling into some Trail Run events for the first time as well as the Coconut Cup Series when it hits the home trails in December. Add a few more adventure trips and it's gonna be another great year!
